My sister just had her birthday and she had a boat day and dinner and I obviously gave my two cents on what she was going to wear. I love creating looks so I was very happy to help her choose. But it got me thinking, now my birthday isn't until November, but I got excited! I started to think about what I wanted to do and what I would wear. Then I thought, maybe other people would want some ideas of things to wear for dinner parties, a sunset picnic party, and so on. Here's what I came up with:
Edgy-Retro
I absolutely love this outfit. In fact, I would even plan on wearing something very similar to it for my own birthday dinner that I want to have. If you know me, the only dresses I really only prefer to wear are silk or silky materials. I know this is very particular and not very cost friendly all the time, but it's that one fabric that I find very flattering on my body. Also when I buy dresses, it's definitely for a special occasion because I don't buy dresses very often, but I would like to buy more. I just feel so particular!! Let's talk about this bum bag. Amazing, it is honestly a great staple to have in your closet and is great to make this outfit a bit edgier.
Pink Please
Pink is a perfect color, debate me. This outfit is so flirty and feminine with the pink bow on the dress and the platform sandals. Jewelry is my favorite way to accessorize a look. I am always on the lookout for new earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings. For prom one year, I was most excited about my necklaces and earrings I was going to wear over my dress. Ssense and Selfridges are great places to look for designer fashion jewelry. I also go on Poshmark to look for used jewelry items that I can no longer find in stores or online.
Western-Chic
I do have to say, when I first saw people wearing cowgirl boots, I did not like the look. But like with most debatable trends, it grew on me. Now I think paired with the perfect dress or outfit, it can look really good! I really love this dress and the color, also it's really affordable... don't walk, run. I have mentioned this necklace in a previous blog post on gold jewelry and I still absolutely love it. And to top it off, it's your birthday, you can wear a crown if you want to.
Elegant-Blue Marble
I first saw this dress in Madison in the Malibu Country Mart. My friend tried to convince me at the time when it was full price for over $600 that I should buy it because it was so me, but I'm a college student and just don't have that kind of money lol. But now it's on saleeeeee. This dress is like a dream dress, plus look at these colors. I mean, come on, BEAUTIFUL. For jewelry, hoops are my favorite earrings and are a go-to for me. I remember a time when white heels or sandals for that matter weren't that popular, now I feel like they are in everyones closet and these strappy ones are super cute.
Comfy & All-Black
If you are looking for a more casual, low-key outfit, this one is perfect to replicate or get inspiration from. A pair of jeans and a cute top is a great dinner look or vice-versa of unique jeans and a cute simple top. I have always been in love with Alexander Wang's shoes, really just his whole collection. Also I just bought a Chrome Hearts ring and it should be here soon and I am really excited and I will keep you updated!
