It was my first time going to Utah, and I got to admit, it was pretty cool. There's amazing food, a pretty good shopping scene, and some fun things to do. And while I didn't want to be there at the time, I look back three weeks later, and I kinda miss it.
The Food Scene:
Goldener Hirsch Restaurant
We started with cheese fondue, and ended with chocolate fondue. This Beef Kavalierspitz was actually amazing, and was even topped with truffle.
Fireside dining was debatably some of the best food I have ever had. Everything is cooked next to a fire, their cheese that melts onto the plates, the meat being cooked, and the chocolate, caramel, and white chocolate fondue. They fly their cheese in once a week from Switzerland; you can eat it with smoked trout, jams, bread, or top it off with so paprika. AMAZING and the best part.
The St. Regis has an amazing lunchtime buffet. I loved the salmon, but my favorite part was the dessert, I tried basically one of everything.
I hope to visit again and try Five5eeds. I have a weakness for Australian breakfast places. The menu looks amazing and I wanted to go so badly when I was there, but didn't get the chance.
Shopping:
Cake Boutique
This boutique is probably my favorite shop in town. They have cute clothing and lots of beauty products. I picked up the best perfume here, Flowerhead from Byredo. Their brands here include Rag & Bone, Woolrich, RtA, ATM, IRO, NSF, and beauty products from Dr. Barbara Sturm, Indie Lee, Kosas, By Terry, etc.
Flight Boutique
This boutique also was really cute and definitely targets the younger age groups. They have clothes from brands such as Free People, The Fifth Label, Soia & Kyo, Line + Dot, Wildfox, Articles of Society, J Brand, One Teaspoon, etc.
Panache
Have some great brands and fun to look around in. Their brands include Monrow, Helmut Lang, Velvet, 360 Cashmere, Equipment, Theory, James Perse, etc. Found some really cool jeans in here.
Gorsuch
This place only sells super high end and expensive ski wear/ winter clothing, but I think it's fun to just look around at and see what they have. Some of their brands are Moncler, Canada Goose, Mr. and Mrs. Italy, AG Denim, Perfect Moment, 7 For All Mankind, Etro, etc.
Things To Do:
The most obvious being skiing, but I don't ski.
There are lots of different trails, my mom and I found one that was right off of the Main Street and walked from there down to another little area which was cool. I also saw trails alongside the freeways that people were hiking, I would be interested in checking this out next time.
I really wanted to go on a snowmobile, but unfortunately we only had limited time and didn't get to go. I hear it's an amazing experience though.
One day, when everyone else was skiing, my mom and I went to the St. Regis where I got a massage and my mom got a facial. It was so relaxing and they had so many other amenities we could use such as a jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna.
I hope to be back soon!
