If I were to take a road trip in California, these would be the two places I would choose between. I absolutely love both, and love to plan for outfits when I decide to go to one or the other.
Cambria, California
Think of Cambria as the perfect beach town you reside to when you need some peace and quiet in your life. With the extra spectacular views and beach vibes, this oceanside town is a home away from home for me.
If you catch Cambria on a warmer day, you may find yourself at the beach sun tanning or catching a wave or two. Or you can grab some bikes and ride around town and, my personal favorite, ride down to the end of Moonstone Drive and set up breakfast or lunch at the picnic tables overlooking the ocean.
At night, it can get pretty chilly. Therefore, you will be wanting to grab a sweater of some sorts to keep you warm. I find that in Cambria you are never really wearing sandals or flip flops, but rather sneakers, and I'm not complaining. A nice roomy bag is perfect for a long day while you may be exploring Hearst Castle or sipping wine at some wineries. To top it all off, make sure you have a perfume lasting all day, like Le Labo's Lys 41.
I've got to say, I would wear this outfit everyday. I absolutely LOVE Frankie's Bikinis silk funfetti colored clothing and the asymmetry on this top has me obsessed. If you read my Denim on Denim on Denim post, then you know that I will never stop looking for unique pieces of denim. These jeans are sure to accentuate and make you legs look longer. These Gucci sandals are so cool and give me big vintage vibes. If you are walking along the Moonstone Boardwalk and they get a little dirty, don't fret, because they are a rubber material that are easy to clean. Lastly, hoop earrings are a great pairing for any outfit, no matter the occasion.
Palm Springs, California
Picture this, you are driving in an old '57 Corvette when you reach the modernist mecca Palm Springs, California. But what's even better is the outfit that you show up in and the ones you wear throughout your trip. See that's me, always planning and preparing what my outfits for a trip will be weeks in advance. Packing is the best part, right?
This look gives me big model-off-duty vibes. Biker shorts are so comfortable and I \ prefer them to regular spandex shorts that leave me feeling self-conscious that they are always riding up and making me show a little too much. Comfortable shoes are essential for long drives, because trust me, you can wear sneakers that still hurt while you are sitting.
I know for a fact, that when I'm in Palm Springs, I will spend a majority of my time laying by the pool and hoping that I tan rather than burn. I believe that these items are a necessity for a day laying out by the pool, grab a book and some sunscreen and you are set for the day! I usually spend my time sipping smoothies and hitting the water slide when the heat gets to be a little too much.
Whether you are going to the Parker's Mister Parker's or grabbing some sushi at Sandfish, a great night outfit is an essential when packing for Palm Springs. I always find that a cute dress and heels is an easy, but perfect look for a night out on the town. This necklace reminds me of the one Rosie Huntington-Whitely wears all the time, while only costing a fraction of the cost.
