Malibu Trip Part 2

I leave for school on August 21st and my family and I didn't get to take any big trips this summer like visiting our family in New Zealand. So we thought it would be nice to go spend three nights on the water in Malibu. I stayed in a Vrbo very close to where I stayed last time with my friends and knew that we couldn't go wrong with vacationing here.

We arrived in the late afternoon/ early evening on Monday and left on Thursday. We had no dinner plans because we were unsure of what time we would arrive and ended up going to Marmalade. I went there once before with my friends during a Malibu day trip and it was very delicious. Afterwards we went over to Whole Foods to pick up some food for breakfast and we decided to grab some cookie dough and ice cream to make cookies for dessert.

The next day we woke up semi-early for a vacation and decided to walk to the Malibu Pier and get some coffee. We went to the Malibu Farm Pier Cafe at the end of the pier, and I got an almond milk chai latte and my mom and sister got watermelon juices and my sister decided to get breakfast too and got the mini pancakes. We headed back to the room after that and made our breakfast. I got some inspiration from Fit with Cambrie and my friend Paris with this recipe: Greek yogurt, collagen, granola, blueberries, and almond butter. It has to be one of my favorite breakfasts I've made.

We decided to hang out at the beach for a while and then we got hungry again, no surprise, and got so lunch at Malibu Farm on the pier. We hung out at the Vrbo after that and I decided to send some pictures to CVS to get printed for my room at school.

Here's how it turned out at school:

Then we got ready for a dinner at Geoffrey's (this trip is beginning to sound like a whole lot of eating). The food was so good and honestly one of the best meals I've had out in a long time. I ate as much fish as I could when I was there because I don't necessarily like to eat fish when I'm in Indiana. I got the Sea Bass, which was actually amazing. If you are in Malibu, this is the number one restaurant I recommend visiting.

The next day my mom and I decided to go on a hike! We did the Solstice Canyon Trail and it was nice because it was shaded and not too hard, especially since we were going through a heat wave at the time. There were old ruins of houses on the trail and even a waterfall at the end! It was really beautiful. After the hike, we went to Sunlife Organics and I got a protein smoothie for lunch and their granola bar for a snack later on.

When we went back to the Vrbo, my sister was basically begging for us to go shopping and I wasn't going to oblige. So we got ready and went to the Malibu Country Mart and surrounding stores. For lunch, we went to the Broad Street Oyster Company, which I also highly recommend. Their lobster rolls were so good, and I'm not one who usually likes lobster, so that's saying a lot.

It was so hot there and as soon as we got back, I put on my bathing suit and jumped into the ocean! For dinner, my dad was tasked with choosing a restaurant and decided upon Saddle Peak Lodge. I got to wear the dress that i bought that day at Planet Blue which I love.

Overall, it was a really fun couple of days and I was super happy to hang out with my family before I left for college.
