Recently I have been starting my morning with hot water and lemon and I have noticed quite a few benefits. My skin has been clearer and it definitely helps with digestion throughout the day. I just grab my mug and squeeze half a lemon in and add hot water and voilà! I like to drink that then head on my way to Crossfit Chalk.
I like to do the 7 am class, which is called Sweat, and is more cardio based than a regular crossfit class. I love how there is always an ab burn and your heart rate will most likely be all the way up throughout the class, especially if you are really pushing yourself. The coaches are really helpful and are willing to help you if you need any modifications or clarifications on a particular exercise. It's really cool how so many people come here and motivate each other to work out and Chalk is really like a family. Sometimes the classes are so busy that we have to go out on the sidewalk, but honestly, it's so much more fun when there are a lot of people.
After the workout and I'm super sweaty and my face is the color of a tomato, I head over across the street to Coffee Dose and grab some coffee and maybe a little treat. My usual go-tos are cold brew with a dash of oat milk or an iced matcha latte with oat milk. I also love how they have gluten-free, vegan, and paleo little baked goods which are always so good to try.
Then I head back home and take a shower and make myself some good ole' avocado toast with poached eggs. I have found recently that I especially love adding some lemon and chili flakes to my avocado to incorporate some extra flavor and I mean it is amazing. I really do love my avocado toast.
I feel ready for the day and whatever is planned!
