This past weekend my friends and I took a weekend trip to the Windy City, Chicago. It was much needed as we had been cooped up at school with online classes and homework. Being in the city was like being in a whole new world, completely different from the small college town we have been in for school. I was fascinated with the skyscrapers and the amazing food that was nothing like the sorority food we have been getting lately. But what I was most mesmerized with was what everyone was wearing! You see Bloomington is lovely, but I can't lie when I say that its nice to see everyone not wearing sweatpants for a little bit. I feel like it inspires me on what I should be wearing and when I see something that someone is wearing, I ask where it's from and am very influenced to buy that item. Yes, this did happen, we were standing in line outside of Aritzia and this woman walked out wearing this amazing black jacket with white fur lines, I knew I had to have it.
Here are some outfits inspired by what the people of Chicago are wearing now.
Monochrome:
Inspired by a sales associate at Aritzia on Rush Street. My friend and I saw the person wearing this and immediately said to each other, "I love her outfit." Now I really want to buy some off-white colored jeans to recreate this look, it's so simple, yet can look so put together.
Jeans from Slvrlake, Tank Top from Skims, Sneakers from Off-White, Cardigan from Princess Polly
Cut Out Tops:
We found this top in Zara and similar ones in Aritzia, and I got this top in black and the white, and then my friend bought the Agolde criss-cross jeans at Intermix, and I think they pair so well together. I bought the Agolde criss-cross shorts in black over the summer and love them so much, Agolde denim is so good in general, so I am very tempted to buy these. I feel like Converse are coming back in style, and these ones add a cool little twist.
Other:
I ordered this name necklace from Etsy because my roommate got it and it is so cute and delicate and had to get one for myself. I feel like it is a great staple to have and wear with any outfit, especially these! Shop here!
It's still a little cold in Chicago and people have some very cute coats & jackets. I bought one from Stand Studio on Saks Fifth Avenue that is super hard to find now, so I am so happy that I got my hands on one. Here are some other really cute jackets to wear with your outfits right now.
