I remember a few months back when I was deep into the Youtube hole and I was watching Genelle Seldon's birthday vlog. She had rented out an AirBnb right on the water in Malibu. With everything going on right now, this was the perfect little getaway close to home. So when I mentioned the idea to my friend and she loved it, I scoured Vrbo's and AirBnb's websites looking for a place that we could stay at.
Situated on Carbon Beach and walking distance from the Malibu Pier and a five minute drive from the Malibu Country Mart, this is the perfect place to stay. There are these bungalows situated in what I would say is like an apartment complex which are so cute! The link to the one we stayed at is: here and on the page there are other bungalow properties that you can look at.
On Wednesday at approximately 12 pm, my friends and I headed up to Malibu for two nights in a Vrbo. We left early so that we could go on a hike before we checked in. There are so many great hikes to go on in the area like the Zuma Ridge Trail, The Grotto, Solstice Canyon, and more, but we went on Point Dume's quick, yet beautiful hike.
Since we had a kitchen, we decided to go to Ralphs to get some groceries for dinner, lunch, and breakfast on the last day, but we would eat out for the other meals. My friend Jamie and I were the chefs for the night and decided to make some salmon, cooked bell peppers and onion, and a salad. I've got to say, I'm pretty confident with my cooking abilities and can see my self as the next top chef!
After dinner we wanted to grab some dessert, so we went to Whole Foods in hopes of finding a dessert that was a little more healthy but still delicious. So we grabbed some gluten-free cookie dough to make back at the bungalow. We got Immaculate Baking Cookie Dough Gluten Free and it was amazing! At night it can get pretty chilly down on the beach, so we would get all cozy in our sweats and watch a movie and eat some cookies!
The next day one of my friends and I woke up extra early so that we could do a little bit of yoga and a run on the beach. We stretched and then went for about a two mile run to the end of the beach and back and then did some abs and some more stretching. Afterwards, we went to Sunlife Organics to grab some protein smoothies.
For most of the day we pretty much hung out at the beach and attempted to make TikToks 😬, but hey I did learn the Savage dance finally! I'm the kind of person that burns within an hour, even with loads of sunscreen, so it was nice to retreat back into the bungalow when I felt my skin burning. Also it was nice because when we got too hot we could go jump into the water to cool off.
Later that day we got ready and all dressed up and walked the 0.2 miles down to the Malibu Pier where we were getting dinner at Malibu Farm. We got there a little early so that we could go check out the shops there. They were super cute and fun to look at all of the small locally created gifts and stuff.
The food was super good at Malibu Farm, no surprise. And after dinner we headed back to the bungalow and just hung out.
The next morning I woke up pretty early because I fell asleep around 10 pm, but I discovered that The Kissing Booth 2 had come out at midnight. So of course I immediately started watching it and then when we started making breakfast we watched it too. We had to check out by 10 am, but we didn't want to head home yet so we went over to the Malibu Country Mart and grabbed some matcha lattes at Sunlife and then did some shopping. I love their stores there, I feel like I would wear everything in those stores. Some of my favorites are Madison, Planet Blue, the Alcove, Burro, and the Beauty Collection store. I feel like everyone was super nice in every store and it was just a really fun shopping experience.
After that we headed home, but I can honestly say that was an incredibly fun and amazing trip that I definitely recommend to anyone.
