Cambria has a population of around 6,444 people and is a beach town centered between San Francisco and Santa Barbara. It is the perfect place to getaway for the weekend when you're sick of looking at the same four walls inside your house and need a change of scenery. In Spring, Cambria is like a never-ending garden with wildflowers growing everywhere and tons of greenery.
We stayed on Moonstone Drive at a place called Sea Otter Inn. Across the street is the Moonstone Beach Boardwalk, which is a pathway that winds through the abundance of plants growing and is where gardens meet the sea. Moonstone Drive is the perfect place to spend the night with the ability to wake up and go for a nice morning walk. Sea Otter Inn provides breakfast every morning which is sent in a picnic basket. You get to choose from four different options composing of a breakfast burrito, a vegetable breakfast burrito, a parfait, and pastries with fruit, and of course the option of orange juice or milk to drink. We decided to take our picnic basket one morning to the boardwalk and enjoy our breakfast on a bench overlooking the ocean.
There are more than ten hotels along this street and it would be fun to go and stay at a new place each time. I especially want to stay at the Cambria Beach Lodge which gives me those boutique hotel vibes that I love. They also provide bikes which would be fun to ride around the town and enjoy the weather.
About 14 miles north of our hotel is a Lighthouse that would be really fun to check out. I like to go to Lighthouses at sunset and it makes for some really pretty photos.
For lunch one day we went to Soto's True Earth Market and in the back they have a deli where they make really good sandwiches. Our friend that has a house in Cambria took us here and told us that the Turkey BLAT was the best sandwich he has ever had and so we had to try it out and it was definitely very good.
I didn't get to try these places out, but I hear that they have great food and I want to go next time I come to Cambria:
-Linn's Restaurant
-The Sow's Ear Cafe
-French Corner Bakery
If you are staying in Cambria for 3 or 4 days, it would be fun to drive down to Cayucos and go surfing or head up to Big Sur and check out the views.
On our way home down south we stopped by Santa Claus beach for some lunch which is just south of Santa Barbara. We usually stop here on our way back from Santa Barbara tournaments and eat at The Garden Market where they have really good sandwiches and salads. There are also really cute shops and boutiques here like one called Rowan which sells lots of summery and beachy clothing as well as Kai Fragrance products which are amazing.
This was such a nice little getaway and fun weekend! These days any thing to get out of the house means a lot!
